It's first function being extraction of marble from the Carrara quarries, GVM was created by Gualtiero Vannelli as a result of great family experience with marble, as well as great knowledge of its capabilities and measures.
GVM's primary goal is to show marble's versatility for art objects through innovative projects & exciting collaborations from all industries.
Founder and president Gualtiero Vanelli had in mind the expansion of marble's functions and usefulness in the eyes of today's' consumer & art lover.
Subsequently, he joined hands, and talents, with some of the most reputable architects, engineers, sculptors and designers, all sharp & most efficient in their own industry, to thus come forward all together with ideas that gave birth to new projects that until today continue to amaze.
With the family education and experience in Carrara and worldwide over the years, as well as the beliefs of Gualtiero Vanelli and the memebers of his 'Civiltà del Marmo' network, GVM's main goal is not to sell stacks of blocks, but rather present Statuary marble as a core material for artistic and architectural works, and most of all, for objects of art..
